Two of the guys that work for me tell me that Toyotas in Central America have the "HILUX" nameplate. Here in the US and Canada they are "Tacoma".

They are also sold overseas with a diesel engine, which we can't get here anymore.

Rob, if you like the Hilux, you should see what our motoring programme Top Gear (BBC) did to several Toyota Hilux's. They submerged one in the sea once, and it still started up afterwards... just :lol:

Hi Liz, My friend in Canada got me hooked on Top Gear, and one of the ones he made sure that I saw was the one about the Hilux in the ocean. That was great.

Top Gear also stuck it on the top of high-rise flats (apartments as they say) when they demolished them. Can't remember if it started after that though.

Clarkson has turned two into powerboats too. I think they were Hilux's weren't they?

No Rob, no new parts was allowed, they reconneted the existing battery.
