Alright guys, what sealer would I put on Quartz (black)?

I asked the same a while back when i fitted some "glittery quartz" from N&C the answer on these was none!
They dont need sealing, Topps version dont either.

As above... Agglomerate quartz does not normally require sealing.. it is a resin based body..

our local tile shop had issues with a white quartz grouted with mapei ultracolor anthracite grout ,the quartz did stain on that occasion I was asked to clean it for them but couldnt get there quick enough for their customers liking but they do recommend sealing their quartz so some do and some dont

I find sometimes Gary that it can be polymer residue and this can dull polished quartz to the state that it looks stained, just a thought for others reading this..

I didnt get a chance to see it Dave but you are right and knowing the guy who tiled the job it was probably washed once with a washboy boy and he was off

I fixed some of these for a customer who bought them from Topps. They sold him a tin of sealer as well. So much for Topps knowledge of tiling.

Depends on which Topps i guess, my local told me they dont even stock a sealer for Quartz ,but they are on commission for FILA sales .........

I remember 8 yrs ago whilst doing my apprenticeship I did a bathroom floor with my dad in the black Quartz, and grouted using the black mapei grout and it left a dull stain over it. To me it ruined the job, even though the customer was happy. And I don't fancy happening on this job. How many of you guys would seal before grouting?

If you're really concerned you could try some Fila MP90. I can't imagine too much of it would penetrate the tile but probably enough to protect it from grout staining provided you wash the grout off fairly quickly.

I was going to use BAL superflex charcoal when I fitted these, tried it on an off cut and it scratched.went back to N&C to see what they would use, their own brand is the solution,not as much coarse sand in it apparently !
