Tremco CS175 epoxy primer

This primer has been supplied by the screed company for an Anhydrite screed.
Looking at the instructions on the tubs it makes no mention of Tiling. It does say
"All aspects of the installation must be
in accordance with the requirements
of BS8204, BS8203 (Installation of
Resilient floorcoverings) or BS5325
(Installation of Textile floorcoverings)
and supplementary specifications."
It also states
"LIMITATIONS
Not for use as a primer for Tremco
smoothing compounds. Where a
primer for these is required, please
consult Tremco illbruck’s Technical
department."

Anyone ever used it, I wasnt going to prime as I will be using N&C Gypfix but it has been supplied. ??

If you are using gypfix ths NOT the best primer. I have seen it used hundreds of times with cement adhesives with a good deal of success. However gypfix release heavily of the screeds ability to pull the moisture out of the adhesive once the gypsum reaction has completed and any epoxy will significantly reduce the screeds ability to do this. If you must use the epoxy use a flexible cement based adhesive. If you use gypfix a single coat of acrylic would be better. Ven better f the screed surface is sound no primer at all.

The screeder probably suplles this for all his screeds regardless as mst people will still b using cemen adhesives nd smoothing compounds and he would not generally know what coverings are going down....

Well he did know what covering was going down as he was there last Monday to do a moisture test. I guess he didnt know either. Gypfix say no primer needed and I dont see a reason it does need it anyway. So straight on with the adhesive for me.
