Trouble with me rubi...

Been havin a few problems with my ts50 plus, I must be doin something wrong, sometimes it wont break even ceramics? then it'll work again for a while, then it'll start playing up again. Any ideas?

Check that there is no play on the breaking jaws and the under pin breaker as well...I have one and have no probs with mine...if it persists then use your warranty....and if this has expired then neil at buybrandtools can get you another breaking mechanism.. let us know what happens...

It will work much better when it has wd40 not just on the rail but on the wheel aswell. other than checking that for oil, make sure all nuts are tight and breaker is rising high enough. (Is it cutting thicker tiles better than thin).

Ta guys, i think it must be play in the breaker as you suggest Dave, i'l take it apart and suss it out, let ya know...

Yeah, sure enough, although it doesnt look worn, a small bit of shim in between the cam and the rollers and its like new. It'd be nice if there was adjustment in some way to allow for wear... Many thanks guys...

Is this another reason to look at Montolit, I ask myself? My breaking system can't wear out, it is part of the casting and the carbon steel centre breaking rib!

As Dave says we can get any spare parts for Rubi cutters. Depending on when you bought your cutter it can have up to a 5 year guarantee. A slight bit of maintenance will solve most problems!
