Trying to get my first job!!

Hi all,

Recently set out on my own, Ive done plenty of tiling in the past for friends/family etc and just finished a course to give me some useful tips. Ive posted over 600 flyers round my home town, but heard nothing yet!
Does anyone have any bright ideas as to how to get my first job??

local paper, newsagents with a good quality postcard printed ad, see a house extension being done, drop in a card etc..........check your local council on-line and look at building approval-send a card to the listed house..etc

.Get listed on ALL the free adds on the net. gumtree trustedtradesmen, etc.
.Local post office postcard add. cost you 50p a week a lot less than 600 flyer's!!
.Get involved in the community. Where I live its not what you know but who you know and everyone buys local!

Club was called Parkers, but it shut down about 4 years ago. As for the pubs......could be Green Dragon, Push or kings head.

Flyers are so frustrating, aren't they, but all the advise above is really good, you can't beat talking to people - they make their mind up about you in the first 3 minutes... we all forget/ignore flyers, but we don't forget people we've met quite so easily... go for it
