I would think that tiling being a permanent finish should be installed suitable to last the life of the building. Difference in France is that the warranties are built into legislation. Same happens with screeds. If we had that in the UK it would not ny a lot of complaints and issues with poor workmanship but would also put a lot of cowboy tilers out of business. Not that I am in favour of over regulation but a simple "do it right or pay for the failure, and if you dont know how to do it right dont flipping well do it in the first place" type rule would not go amiss.

That's not bad. The customer could buy that as an option perhaps? Or do you subscribe to it no matter what job once you're in you're in sort of thing?
well this I would use on wet rooms or suspended floor with under floor heating .more to put the clients mind at rest. dont see reason for using this on small jobs

I may be wrong but I'm still fairly sure the deal was that the customer took out the insurance against the tiler going bust, not insuring against bad/faulty workmanship.

The tiler takes out the insurance in case he went out of business within 6 yrs of doing said tiling project and if anything went wrong etc then the insurance covered said job to a certain value and for 6 yrs from completion.. if the tiler was still in business then he sorted the fault etc..

Do the job right in the first place i say and why i never used said insurance..
