Tubbed Adhesives

I've read on a few threads, guys only using tubbed addy on tiles upto a certain size. My question is, if you were tiling with ceramic tiles, how big would you go, before going to cement based addy, and does acrylic addy make any difference to standard tubbed?

300 x 300 and acrylic makes no difference......But i have now switched to cement based 100% now...

My preference is powdered. I've got some Ardex D30 in the van somewhere, but can't remember the last time I used it.

Ardex D20 upto 250 x 250, otherwise powder...............

i find granfix multifix is a good grab tubbed adhesive, but i only use tubbed on kithcen splashbacks or that sort of size tiles, much eayer with cement if you come accross a dip in the wall, so i tend to use that

Do you all use rapid set flexi. or a standard flex

For walls I try and get a standard flexi but getting harder to get round my area, even tile depot are chucking out mapei for granfix:yikes:

Tend to use tubbed on mosaics only now, usually Mapei Ultra Mastic Super White. Otherwise on walls a mixture of Mapei P9, Keraquick and Kerabond

I did recently use tubbed on some 330x250. This is under the BS area that tubbed is speced for.

However I would now seriously consider using bagged for most jobs now. I used BAL Mosaic Fix for the mosaics I did. Also, if walls are bowed bagged is great as it can take out the hollows.

When doing a floor using Profix SPF (really good stuff) and got down to too little to put a tile down, I would use the rest to level out walls.

I only used tubbed on kitchen splashes, and usually only when there isnt really anywhere suitable to mix.

Tubbed for the smaller stuff, upto 300 x 250 max for me then cement after that.

Never find I get the same "grap" with cement as I do with tubbed though.

im same as oli on this one only use tubbed for kitchen splashbacks. Rapid set flexi for everything else.
