starting to tile my sisters house tomorrow mornin, they have under floor heating throughout, was just wondering what the story was for turning it back on after its tiled, do ya turn it on gradually? or put it up full rip?, leave it a week?,does it depend on the addy? or the type of UFH? cheers.

from past experiences with other materials(mainly plastering) the last think you need is for something to dry too rapdily, everything has guidlines as far as settings go and if its too cold/too hot then they can dramatically change matters (strength being the main one) start off by readint the tile adhesive packaging for any kind of recommendations, personally i wouldnt take the risk, but.... im new to all this tile mallarky and maybe different priducdts are ok to use after being newly laid? ... either way id allways go with heating it up slowly method but or how long is beyonf me?... too soon tho is deffinately a no go i my eyes

It needs to to be turned on gradually..till it reaches the required temp..( 1 to 2 dgs a day)...as for the commission period then the UFH manual will tell you this..it is usually between 8 to 14 days , but i have known some say longer..but most have altered there times to a lower date now............always check before turning it on..........

If i recall correctly Warmup said 28 days but Elements said 7days and as Dave says build it up gradually daily 1 - 2 degrees each day.

Yip Eamonn 1 degree a day is usual and not until at least a day after the adhesive is put down,
good luck with that big un lad.
