Hi....I'm not a tiler by trade but have laid a lot of tile in my life. I am now looking at my first UFH job (my bathroom). Laying heating mats on top of concrete floor but don't have a lot of height to play with....porcelain tiles on top. 6mm insulation board is just a bit to thick I think....i'm also in south of spain and a lot of these products are hard to find. I spoke w/ tech help at Warmup USA and they suggested cork with a skim of tile adhesive on top.....i can buy rolls of 2mm cork locally. While I know 2mm isn't much I imagine it is far better than nothing. Does this sound like a reasonable solution or does anyone have any better ideas? I'd probably fix the cork to the ground with some sort of heat resistant adhesive. Also wondering about the adhesive....here we have a product they call Cement Cola which you buy in 25kg bags....and a special one for porcelain which i was planning on using.....most people call for flexible adhesive and this stuff seems quite hard....will this stuff work?? Anyone know of a better alternative in this part of the world?
Many thanks in advance.....
