Doing a floor its 25 m2 kichen going into hallway the kichen has piped ufh under sreed dont know how long its been down they have been there 5 years and was there before they moved in, i know i must use flexy addy is ita must to use ditra aswell ? i will be laying glazed porcalain 400 x 400

imo no as they are porc which are much stronger than stone, what condition is the screed in any cracks

don't know yet mate got to lift the lino if there is might recomend ditra to be sure

what would you say if was ceramic tiles on a new lay sreed and ufh lets say 4 months ? would you use ditra ?

As they say above , see if there are cracks, but I'd still say give the customer the option.
Price it up and say what the cost with or without ditra. I always advise it now, i've seen too many screeds crack, even after a few years.
Its a doddle to fix, and its an easy day you get paid for, plus its piece of mind.

yeah layed it a few times now not ditra but topp's own stuff they use

Yea sorry i'm used to just saying Ditra to mean uncoupling membrane, but now the Ditra is pricey ncompared to the other mats available, i tend to use Dural.

Make sure there is no damp trapped under the lino!
If it was going to crack it would have happened by now - but you'll have more idea when you see the state of the floor.

Urgh, you can find alsorts under old lino!!!
Yep good point TJ about the screed cracking by now, but my Virgo worrier brain would say, it didn't crack with lino, but we're going to add a whole new flooring system that will resist any movement way more than the lino, so i'd still put it back in the customers hands, at least they've had the choice, belt 'n' braces or the unknown......
