Heard on the radio today that yet!! more retailers hit by consumer spending.

nah, Cadbury for me

I used to be a Jane Norman girl too, until I developed child bearing hips and couldn't fit into any of their ultra skinny clothes!

There is a Thorntons in Scarborough, hope it stays, don't like the chocolate that much, but the cafe is really nice and popular and in the middle of town, too, hope it won't close. It's more and more just charity shops, shoeshops, optitians and pound or poundstretcher, not exactly uplifting! but then I internet-shop, too, just the way things are now, aren't they.

Sadly it is a sign of the times.. The Net is the place to shop and search for trades..

Definitely - petrol prices, public transport, car parking charges, all that sort of thing is much more offputting than shops. Still feel sorry for the shopkeepers though.
