under floor heating

hi guys,need some advice on a job i got booked for the new year ,the job is to tile approx 30m2 using ceramic floor tiles throughout an appartment hall kitchen living room, at the min there is laminate laid over under floor heating pipes,which is lifting all over the place. the heating pipes are laid on some form of insulating product the type with channels cut out wondering what you would use to cover this prior to tiling ie self leveller or screed what would be the min thickness for the screed any advice would be great

Have you any pictures?
Only certain types of SLC are suitable for UFH so check and use flexi addy & grout.
Why was the laminate lifting, poor fixing or any signs of water??
Most of the jobs ive done are electric UFH matting where SLC is applied over the mat then tiles onto. Or the qater pipes are buried under screed already, so seems a strange arrangement to me.

i think the flooring is lifting due to the heat off the pipes , the appartment is in a conversion ,the building used to be a technical college and is on the second floor i think all the appartments have the same heating set up , the pipesare laid into deep channels in what looks like polystyerene just wondering what would be best to cover this and tile on

Then flexi addy and grout.
