Hi All

Went to quote a floor tonight. Firstly it has those 12" vinyl tiles down on a concrete base. Advised it would be best to lift the existing but they were adam ant ( dog eat dog) that they were well stuck down. Secondly there was a large difference in levels with a raised level coming from one wall which dropped to about 15-20mm. (used a level to judge it). The customer was not keen on levelling it and I explained there would be lipping or even cracked tiles if it was tiled without.

Question is have any of you guys or galls attempted to tile a floor without levelling and if so what was the result.

Loads of times, alot of customers won't pay the extra to have the floor levelled as long as the tiles arent too big and the difference isnt massive they won't really notice and you should be able to do it without lipping if you take your time.

 as above-if the floor is "flat" then lay it to that if that helps.doesnt have to be level if you see what i mean

Firstly ive got tiles clean up your message folder !

Secondly floor is level to about a metre from wall then at that point drops down to about 20mm below approx over 500mm and then level again. It is as if it has had concrete poured over uneven flags so to speak. So by out of level I don't mean sloping I mean going to different levels.

Have done mate, sorry very popular.Ive had to do a few floors like that,I make sure those ones are level, you just need to use more ady to get the required level.Feel free to pm me if you need:thumbsup:
