Okay, we've had a couple of events organised in part by the forum and / or its members. And then a couple of people have recently asked me about whether there is a list of events on the forum. Various sponsors and member support accounts (company rep's) have their own calendars and events systems on their websites but it can become a bit of a maul spending an evening searching for them all and then planning them in etc. Then posting a thread asking whether anybody is going and yada yada yada.
So.
I've created a category in the resources area on the forum that you can now create an event in. The category when you click add an item is pretty self explanatory. For the sponsors and other company rep's that have more information on their own website, they can provide a link or two (it asks you for those during posting the event).
The event then automatically gets a thread created for further discussion (and to organise car sharing or hotel info and that sort of stuff) and it also automatically gets added to the calendar. Which is also new.
So this is how it works.
IF YOU WANT TO ADD AN EVENT TO THE CALENDAR
Once you're on an events page, you can see on the right that you can RSVP the event. This marks you as going. Then on the events discussion page there is a tab that you can see everybody else who is going too.
This events system is one of those things that will work really well if people us it a lot. So please can all sponsors, tile reps (of any company at all), tilers who know of local events, and anybody else who has events, make sure you add the full list of planned events and keep tabs on the events thread that gets created to chat about it.
Let's get this community going offline as well as online. We really do benefit when we network a lot. Best of all, as always on tilersforums.com, it is free of charge. And costs covered by paying sponsors. So please make sure you're always buying from our sponsors. And always praising them on the forums when they've helped you.
Thanks for reading if you got this far, it's a lot to take in. lol

IF YOU WANT TO ADD AN EVENT TO THE CALENDAR
- Click "Resources" in the main menu
- Click "Add an Item"
- Select the category called "Tile and Training Events Calendar and RSVP" (you can also view the menu in the side menu bar if you're just browsing events and you'll see a list, currently just a test event there)
- Fill in the information and that's it.
- Click "Calendar" in the main menu and view the events via the calendar, month by month etc as you'd expect. Click on the event and you get the actual events page with info.
- ORRrrrrr go to the resources area (again in the main menu) and click on the Tile and Training Events Calendar and RSVP menu item, browse the events and choose the one you want.
