Just thought I'd share with you all the result from my stupidity with the Stanley knife I told you about over 4 weeks ago.

Had the operation 2 weeks ago today, got the bandages off 10 days ago and have now had this contraption on since...

Surgeon didn't have to cut too far down the thumb to find the other end of the tendon thankfully.

So the stiches have come out today :hurray:

Still got to have this on 24/7 for the next 2 to 3 weeks to allow the tendon to fully heal before it can take it's own weight, so to speak, so no tiling or anything really untill it comes off.

Happy days :mad2:

1) Are you insured well? You might be covered?
2) OUCH! Bloody hell mate, the story didn't quite fit those pictures in my mind I thought you meant a little cut!
3) HAHA you're one finger typing again then with your right hand! (joke mate - don't take offense lol)

I hope you get well soon mate

Well sWe, since tiling is my second job, I will be starting back on shift tomorrow night on my full time job, which im doing nights at the moment, but I wouldn't be supprised for the bosses to send me back home due to health n saftey reasons the following morning when they start work "we don't have night supervisors" so then If that happens I'll just be sat at home, watching TV and playing on the PC.

No insurance that covers me for this Dan :( and it was only a little cut that I did, just the surgeon did a far bigger one to find the tendon

stick to the doctors advise. tendons thaht do not heel right due to over streching to early can cause problems it happend to me on my wedding ring finger (argument with a wood saw) cant strighten it out does not cause much problems but a thumb could imagane tryin to grip a trowel. good luck:stupid:lol
