I have a kitchen & utility room floor to tile and I want the washbasin and wc out for tiling and then re-fitted after. I'm no plumber so what would be a reasonable amount to pay for the 2 visits and very small material cost?

Richard, Could you not take them out yourself? it would save you paying someone, better in your pocket! try doing a search on youtube for a how to video and give it a go

Thank you all. I've considered on and off doing a weeks plumbing course to help me with this kind of thing. At the moment, I'd rather pay someone to do it properly - its a confidence thing you see. Up to now I've been using a plumber for this but he's asking for the kind of money that'll lose me the job.

Richard most propertys have iso valves fitted as standard nowadays and if they dont they are a doddle to fit, I dont think you will need to be doing a plumbing course mate for removing the odd basin and loo just take the time to watch plumber next time round or even search the web for tips but basically once you know how to drain a system and isolate or cap of a pipe "push fit stop end a good top" then its plain sailing. I know sometimes confidence is an issue on doing something new but sometimes just got to have a go!!
