very unlevel ply floor

i have a job to do tomorrow on a bathroom floor , its had 12mm ply screwed down and primed , sorted but it not that level and up and down in parts , the builder who im doing the job for wants it proper level but it means packing it out up to 2inch as it hits the centre point of the room , i did say to the builder it wants sorting proplerly but he is having none of it , is packing it out that much to much ? as i normaly do all the prep myself and never have this problem , tiles are 600 by 300 porcelin , cheers

no adhesive will go to 2 inches rc ,as you advise it needs sorting

personally i wouldnt do it unless its prepped it will only come back on one person...you

if thats the case your builder is having a laugh, if i was you i woul tell him you are not prepared to do the job
under them circumstances you know it cant be right to even attemt it if he wont make it right i would walk im afraid

How big is the area to be tiled? 50mm is a massive amount to gain, not something that can be fixed with addy, needs to be prepped properly.

you need to put your foot down and tell the builder that you will not tile the job unless the wood floor is within tolerance why should you spend the time and money sorting his problem out

it appears the builder is wanting the tiler to fix some disatrous joinery work. no one should leave a floor 50mm out of level.if not fixed i agree with kilty walk away.

I'm not sure that I put that much fall in a wetroom. Good luck with that .
I'd tell him to get the floor sorted first or charge him for you to do it properly.

6 metre , its an old terrace house the floor dips in the middle then raises up again but other areas of the floor bulging up slightly so i got take the level from the high point and run it straight across the hole floor to get it level .

I'm not surprised that he has problems keeping a regular tiler if his prep work is always that bad! There's no way I'd want to work for him :lol:
