wall preperation advice

Hi to all members,looking for advice please. when I remove old ceramic tiles from bathroom walls do I need to prime the surface before fixing large (60 x 30cm) porcelain tiles and whats the best type to use. Also these pocelain tiles are both wall and floor is there an adhesive that will do the fllor and walls.

Hi Dan Thanks for your reply, the walls are plasterboard with whats left from removing the old tiles I will get off as much old adhesive as possible, the floor will be replaced with 18mm ply.

You would probably better off ripping the old boards off and replace with new...

As above new plasterboard would be better and faster imo.

Every time. I don't even give it a second thought anymore. Rip it all off and replace. Plus you get to check out the timber behind and reinforce if necessary.
