I just been to quote someones kitchen floor tonight, they just called me back saying they want it done and are happy with the quote, they also now want me to do all the walls aswell that are tiled to the ceiling.(I had a good check while I was there just in case it might be a future job and their very sound)I explained that its possible to go over old tiles and to be fair cheaper that getting me to remove the old ones and prep the walls but I would advise against it because of the weight ratio and because I was going over someone elses work which I couldn't vouch for.He said that it was him who put the tiles on and that there was no way they would come off,not being one to turn work away I said I could only do it on the condition that I could not give a guarantee on that work and he'd be happy to sign something saying that I advised against it and that I was only carrying out the work the way he specifically asked for it to be done.
He said thats totally fair and he'd be happy to sign anything that I wrote out for him.At least I'm covered and to be fair there that well stuck on I'd probably take the whole wall down trying to get them off.
