warning to all tilers old and new!

How many bods have done the same?

My sore old trick is with thick porcelain that the rubi breaker can't handle.

Score the tile and break over ya knee.......then scream cos it hurts.

Then take ya time laying it to let ya sore knee get better............Then do it again:sad_smile:

Sad really the habits you get into ?
get a sigma, no problems, i did the same thing but not to that extent cutting like a U shaped tile then went to snap it the full thing broke into 2 points which stuck into my hands, they where like stigmata lol exactelly the same spot in the middle of 2 hands that was fun tiling for the rest of the day lol, hope the hands alright m8

Hi m8 sorry to hear the bad news and i hope you get better soon but do you need someone to carry on with the job for you lol:wink_smile: only pulling ya leg hope all goes well for you soon.

Sorry to hear that, get well soon mate! i have done a couple of silly things to not nice!! Sean

Get well soon mate that sounds a right *******!
I was an industrial roofer a few years ago,me and my mate were on a roof(B&Q size)he was cutting metal sheets with a grinder when he lost control and cut straight across his thigh,it wasn't much fun trying to carry him down:icon9:

Nasty! I've been there when I was pulling down a shower enclosure with a claw hammer and I dragged my wrist over a broken tile. I was like that bit in Terminator when Arnie opened his wrist up. Drove myself to A&E and everything.

10 year old thread right here, hope he's healed up!

I've had a few slices doing the exact same thing, snapping tiles with my hands but nothing too bad, porcelain are lethal if you aren't careful. No good for a glory hole!

Met a plumber on a job who had almost a complete soil stack shape on his forehead. Pulling down a metal stack and it fell straight on him! He drove himself to the A&E.
I've only stabbed myself with a raking cut in the stomach. About the same time as this thread started.

I got 12 stitches in my arm where I stood backwards to admire my fantastic tiling, tripped over the sigma onto a rusty nail sticking out the wall........put a lovely tear in my arm !!!

I had my heel bone cut off, moved and then screwed back in then the screw removed but it wasn't a work accident lol
