Is the Wedi "Gold Plated"??

It should be for the price. I'm with you on the Ardex, I couldnt get on with it either.

I admit it's not the easiest kit to work with but, I like the texture of it and it feels very robust compared to some of the other kits such as WP1 and sys.protect.

The finish of it is good Bri, gives a right good key for the adhesive to stick to.
I've got some left, think I will just use it on a small wall to test it out again & try & mix it thinner.

That's the key to it mate, mix it with a paddle to get it nice and creamy and lump free, then skim it on with a trowel.

The tilemaster tape is a good sturdy one and easy to apply, I've never bought it without the rest of the kit though tbh, but I imagine you caould get hold of it separately
