wavey edged spacing

Hi, could someone please tell me the best way to space wavey edged tiles. Do i do it by eye or with spacers or is there another way? thanks in advance.

Generally by eye and tape measure with long straight edge (for floors).
Tiles with this type of edge are usually meant to look 'rustic'.

Hi Ant,as John says,though often even the wavy edge tiles will actually interloc giving a regular rather than totally random joint do yourself a trial dry setting out to achieve the best look...Regards Nigel

place a tile at either end of your straight edge, then run your tiles along the length so that they butt up against your straight edge, and keep repeating this procedure on each course of tiles

A string line can be used as well.. but working in bays will be the best for newcomers to wavey edge..

I have 4.5m straight edge on my roof rack, handy for big floors,as tj says eyes, tape. Does anyone use the term rack o' th'eye it means you can sight accurately. Without string lines, straight edge etc. Sorry to but in on the thread. Maybe I should put this in one I have read about regional terms
