Generally by eye and tape measure with long straight edge (for floors).
Tiles with this type of edge are usually meant to look 'rustic'.


I have 4.5m straight edge on my roof rack, handy for big floors,as tj says eyes, tape. Does anyone use the term rack o' th'eye it means you can sight accurately. Without string lines, straight edge etc. Sorry to but in on the thread. Maybe I should put this in one I have read about regional terms:thumbsup:
