I'v been asked to fit some waxman mosaics i have never fitted mosaics before, and i'm not sure what to charge per msq. also would i be able to use white keraquick, or would it have to be bal mosaic fix. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

the big question here is....

Paper faced or mesh backed????

paper faced is a real.........Doug, how are you?, where are you?:lol::lol::lol:

The walls will be flat, by the time i do the job, the plasterer is going to chop out the plaster where the mosaics are going, and then adhere plaster board in its place, does this sound ok, he says it is.

Should be fine mate:thumbsup:

As it's you first mosaic I would charge a bit more, I've charged £50 m2 in a shower area but that included adhesive and grouting

i can't see how he can charge more for his learning curve ??? going rate at the moment, regional

fitting mosaics is relitivly simple providing

1. the substrate is bob on flat (and preferably level).
2. you stagger the sheets brickbond...(top tip).
3. you use a good quality adhesive...keraflex, maxi, p9 or is it p10 i can never remember....

£210.. for 10mtrs can you do it in a day?

i cant, so i would charge more, but thats me!!

good luck!

oh and i am i C.London so...prices are higher, but so are living expences!

how much then alan p, come off the railings ! poynton asked how much!

I charge £40 m2 inc mats unless there are preferential requests. Yes they can be easy, I recently fixed 50 m2 in 2 days, no sweat, minus grouting, penny rounds, nice substrate but not my job 😳 :dizzy2:

i think as its a learning curve, you should charge day rate less 20% and let the customer know its your first time!!!!!!

they will appreciate the honesty and accecpt the deal, if they tell you to go away, they would have kicked you in the teeth for getting it a "little" bit wrong later in the job, if you catch my drift....

mosiacs are not easy, i charge more for mosaics than anything else...and there is a reason for that!!!

i know a bit about tiling, i know a bit about mapei product...i dont know everything!

best wishes!

Dagger.

careful wherever you may be, we are the famous AFC, and we dont give a "cattle" whoever you may be cause we are the famous AFC.....heheheh:hurray:

My starting price for mosaics is £55.00 per m2 not including materials. And by the way p10 is the best adhesive I have ever used.

P10 is the dogs, I always use it with mosiacs unless something else is specified. Mosiacs are so easy to **** up. Recently had a couple of jobs correcting bodged jobs, its heart breaking to see it, some people have very strange ideas of a good job.:yikes:
