not sure if anyone has mentioned this but thought i'd say a few words on webers latest addition to it's line of adhesives. the weber rep was at the ctd trade week at maidstone last week and was promoting this which he told me is suitable for large format porcelaine and stone too. so not to be confused with the regular weber set rapid. also can be used on anhydrite screeds providing the correct prep, ie. removal of laitance, moisture levels etc. using pr360 to prime. he told me that they're not making a big song and dance about it, which is why some may not have noticed it on the shelves yet, and that it was their equivalent of ardex x7r, which is a pretty good adhesive too.
anyway, thought i'd give it a go and used some last week on some bathrooms i was doing, and found it to be an excellent adhesive. pot life is very good, and when it starts to stiffen a bit can be stirred up a bit to give a bit longer to use. spreads very well too, and when notched holds it shape well too. the grab on it is very good as well, and when i was checking to make sure i had a solid bed needed a chisel to pry them from the wall to make check the coverage. overall it's definitely an adhesive i'll be using again, though not sure what the price per bag will be, but during the trade week they were knocking it out at 7.99 per bag plus vat, so if it stays at or around that price i think i'll be using a lot of it. also can be used with ufh on wooden substrates with ad250 (with suitable backer boards/ditra etc) which makes it a 2 part flex. cheers all, hope this is a help.
