Discuss Websites are they worth it ??? in the British & UK Tiling Forum area at TilersForums.com.

Just had a look at the mistores website, as i'm thinking about getting my own website, i think it looks pretty good, and the prices are reasonable. But seeing as money is tight at the moment, and after the costly experience i had with u find us, and there websites when i first started up, i'm a bit unsure. I am hoping the guys on the forum with there own websites, could give me their opinions, and let me know what amount of trade they can generate, all advice will be very much appreciated

I too have just gone with Mistore.co.uk , my website generates me work but i want a better looking site and unlimited pages was a plus...But YES!! IMHO websites that rank well do bring in work.

After all a lot of customers find thier tilers via the Net , so having a good looking website will help with first impressions.

Thats what my old site was lacking was that wow factor.

So after a good look at the Demo on Mistore.co.uk i thought right looks great go for it.

Are websites worth it? Short answer Yes. The Internet is becoming the first point of contact for people searching for anything from tradesmen to cat food. It is most definitely worth your time (and money) investing in a professional website. What other marketing efforts has you "open to your customers 24 hours a day".

One of the things I’ve noticed is that to get ranked well in the building industry is fairly easy (locally speaking, which is what matters). It seems our industry is severely underdeveloped when it comes to the internet. With most other industries you haven't got a chance in hell of ranking well unless you have a sizable budget.

I personally won't be going with mistore for my building website because I have a close friend who works for a large firm as their web developer who will do it for free, well not quite, I said I’d decorate his hall in exchange for a website, but if I wanted a bespoke website built to the spec I want then it would cost me a couple grand. But if I didn't I’d be going with MiStore who I’ve looked at before they were sponsors here, just think about, I'm sure you've got tools that cost £50 and you've never used them. Hell I bet you've bought a round of drinks that cost as much. So you really can't argue with the price!
