Wedi on a brick wall

Hi gang, so I'm working on a bathroom and behind the tiles was a morass. One wall is the outside wall of brick previously plasterboard dot and dabbed, the other plasterboard on stud and failed under tile removal. Want to Wedi board the enclosure 80x80 but can I dot and dab Wedi to brick or do I have to plasterboard dot and dabbed to brick then tanking ? Cheers everyone Merry Christmas :hurray:

Does the wall show any signs of damp which had plasterboard dot and dabbed on it..

to fix wedi to a solid wall you punch equaly spaced holes through the board spaced 100mm from the edges every 300mm and down the center off set verticaly by 150mm, apply your dabs of spf rapid on the back off the board over your punched holes, set the board in place.

when the addy is cured fix mechanically with wedi dowels/spankers or screw plug and wedi washers through your punched holes

fix to studwork with screws and wedi washers

As Spanish has quoted, use spankers for a mechanical fixing after dot n dabbing wedi or marmox.

Yes Whitey it does although it is (was ) just wet - no mould or flakiness or spalling or owt. It is drying out and I am guesing it needs to do so thoroughly and then be treated, thanks for your help. Cow
