Discuss Wetroom floor build up in the Canada Tile Advice area at TilersForums.com.

Hi everyone. I am about to start building a wetroom. My plan is as follows:

JACKOBOARD AQUA LINE EASY LINEAR wetroom tray, I plan on installing this on the joists alongside 18mm WBP ply.
I then plan on putting 6mm jackoboard over the ply, electric underfloor heating mat(4mm) and then self leveling compound up to the tray height of 30mm. I will then apply all the waterproof tanking in the kit before tiling, does this seem sensible? Thanks

Use a 10mm board. Less levelling compound

When you place the jackoboard shower form direct to the joists, the shower form needs to have additional support between the joists. That support needs to be 18mm ply, my question is...what is the best timber to use to support the ply, a standard 25x38 baton? or something more structural?

I would not rely on just 18mm ply and also tank the floor into drain
