What age will you retire?

just been talking to a tiler who is still tiling at 76!
so, what age do you think you can carry on to?
Can you see your body holding out to 60, 65 69 or beyond...

I think the best way to hold back the aging process is to eat healthy, exercise, avoid stress and work for as long as you possibly can, that way, your brain still thinks its got a purpose.

it would be great to see the guys in their 40's still working and 'posting' ;0) in another 30 years...

Well i'am 55 and still going strong, lost weight recently !, and now eat as well as i can, my exercise is walking the dog !, and i have no intention of retiring ever !!!!!! i will die on the job one day

Me I am 62 still going but knees going now need a knee replacement on my left knee ,but had a bad accident in 1980 ended up with a pin in my femur ,so thats got to be removed before they can do my knee overall looking at 6 to 9 months of work so just going to battle on until the pain gets to much.

I would retire tomorrow if I could afford to. ...
Defo prefer to work to live not live to work...
I'll keep going as long as I have to but will reduce the days and hours I work as my monthly spend becomes less when the kids have flown the nest and my house is paid off...

My plan would be to get off the tools in my late 30s or early 40s and getting into the clean clothed aspect of tiles when I have the capital and knowledge to do so. Don't want to be tiling in my 50s and 60s as my body feels knackered already at 27.

Yeah i would also give up tomorrow if i could, am always on the look out for another career that is less threatening to the body. I do keep in good shape, eat all the good stuff, no sugar, don't smoke and am at the gym 5 evenings a week so i'm hoping i can hold up for a while longer yet!!

This is the best job in the world - why would I want to retire!
We create a masterpiece every day and leave it for people to admire for years, sometimes we are lucky enough for it to still be on show after 30 years.
Health is the only issue.
Stay healthy, stay working.

Seriously Andy, I've seen to many folk, my dad included ,working, paying massive amounts into pensions then dying before retiring age[emoji26]
not a chance I want or need stress of work when I'm older, I want the sun, a pool ,a bar ,a beer and my girls,( and mates) makes me relax and feel happy , and keep my BP low [emoji41]

Tiled full time for 27 years, pain in knees, back going every now and then, and saw the way forward for me to do contracting, with the plan of handing over the managing and semi retiring by 50 to my valley in Bulgaria, all on track... we'll see if it works out !
