We now have Dukka board on sale near to me, must give it a try.

Dukka is exactly like Wedi - but Orange inside instead of blue.

One interesting thing with Dukka that I must find out about, is that in their catalogue, some of the stuff is blue and the pictures are EXACTLY the same one's that Wedi use! Go figure. For instance the shower drain detail pic is an identical picture.

btw - if anyone didn't realise, my other job is photography, so I notice such things.

The Dukka brochure I have seems to have identical parts as Wedi supply. Up to and including identical washers with little holes in them. Either Wedi are crap at copyrighting/patenting their stuff - or perhaps its the other way around. Personally not tried the Dukka, but my local tile man says he can get me much better discounts on it, so perhaps next time.

tbh - if I'm running my business correctly and passing my costs onto my clients (with my markup) then I don't really see the problem using Wedi - which is superb.

Hi,

Even though the tray comes with a little membrane protruding off the sides, i would guess you would still need to tank the rest of the floor? If so, this looks like a little bit of a waste of time?

Cheers

We sell the Tilux wetroom tray for concrete installs and the majority of concrete installs dont need floor tanking do they ?

The tanking membrane which is factory fixed into the drain collar extends over the edges of the base so it can be fixed securely to its surounds finishing the seal. The drain collar accepts the drain from below, this locks into place on a one way seal system so absolutely no leaks leaving you confident.

Where the tray meets the wall the membrane is folded upwards and fixed to the walls with flexible tile adhesive, Fixing the dura-wp tanking membrane over the walls and over the trays upturn makes a 100% tanking situation.

Briefly -

a roll of dura-wp wall tanking membrane,
a roll of flexible corner tape,
a Tilux wetfloor tray
a bag of flexible powdered tile adhesive

Thats all it takes.
