What are your bug bears in tiling...

while working today I was thinking what do other people get annoyed by in tiling, mine are 1..the wax between tiles, really does my head in and 2...customers who know more about tiling and tile better than you,

How about clients that arrange you to tile a screed floor but then call up the day before and say can you start the bathrooms 1st ( after you have just collected adhesive for the floor) Then when you arrive they say , can you tile bathroom floors 1st...so off you go to the tile store again to get materials for that!!!!! Welcome to my day !

Today in a flat, 2 sparkies fitting downlighters and alterations, 2 painters, 1 plumber trying to work in a bathroom and me trying to get the walls prepared for tiling, early day:mad2:

People invading my personal space when I'm trying to work! Customers, other trades doesn't matter who it is, I hate other people working around me in the same room! And plasterers is a good one Dave, no consideration for us perfectionists!

this is what bugs me, customers who dont know what they're doing. i had to smash out 3 large porcs out of this finished wall for the plumber to sink his pipes. cutomers 'forgot' what tap they were having:mad2:

I'd have to say cutting outside in the freezing cold! That said the cutters that don't get you wet are much cheaper now and I think I'd have one of those if I were tiling still.

in the case of my mosaics - tiny glass cuts on my fingers... the little splinters you can hardly see, and the tiny nylon fibres from the mesh, too, however careful I am...

i had to do the same a couple of months back, i also had to throw the black fruit into the bin and the back yard was full of dog **** so i threw a spare plaster board over it so i could work out in the back.
