What Colour Silicon?

H

I have tiled my shower recess and grouted with Weber grey grout. Obviously I will use white Silicon between the tile bottoms and the tray. I intend to use grey Silicon for the two vertical corners. What should I use between the tops of the tiles and the white painted ceilings; I assume white?
Also can anyone advise a good colour matched Silicon to go with weber grey grout. I was thinking of using Mapei Silicon as it seems to be well regarded on here and is stocked by screwfix, which is local to me.
I'd appreciate any advice.

Weber have colour matched Silicon for their grouts. Personally I don't like to see two colours of Silicon together (unless there are two colours of grout), I like to match the grout and keep it all the same.

I know what you mean about different colour grouts. However, I've never seen coloured grout next to a shower tray, and I am also thinking about when the ceiling is painted again. Easier to paint up to white grout than grey, I think

thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated. Grout may be the way to go, I already siliconed the top of the tile backer boards

I've never caulked the gap at the top where the tiles meet the ceiling, always grouted. A good quality grout will not crack.

Those that grout the ceiling gap, do you mask the ceiling before using coloured grout or are you just a lot better than me at avoiding getting any grout on it in the first place?

99%of the time, the ceiling will be painted afterwards, so don't worry too much about staining. I do always make sure it's washed off properly so there's no grout lumps or residue left on the ceiling.

@Bri do you use colour matched Silicon (grey etc) along the tops of baths, sinks etc or if white goods do you use santary white Silicon.??
Yeah I tend to keep the Silicon the same throughout, the only possible exception to this would be if the Silicon was a dark grey or charcoal, I'd use white around the sanitary ware in this instance. The most frequent colours I tend to use are , light grey, jasmine, limestone and sandstone, so being quite light colours, the Silicon doesn't look out of place against white sanitary ware.

I'm exactly the same.
I also grout up to the ceiling.

Just grout to the ceiling.
White to the sanitary ware.
Corners - Clear or Silicon to match tile colour not grout colour.

I tried caulk once, thought it was crap. It was soudal (I think) which is supposed to be decent quality. A decent grout will do the same job IMO.

I've only tried it once too - on my parents bathroom. It was dow corning and I thought it was brilliant as it was so quick and easy and looked good. 6 months later it had all sunk/shrunk and split.
