Been losing out on a lot of quotes recently so I thought I would run this one by you all before I give the customer my price.

The Job -

Tile Bathroom walls 16m2 using customer supplied ceramics (not sure of exact size yet but not over 300x200)

Tank around bath/Shower area

Customer doing all wall prep, dot and dabbing plasterboard onto existing brick work.

Secure existing floorboards (no deflection) overboard using 6mm NMP

Tile floor 3m2 with Ceramics

Box in and tile 2m length of pipe work running along the floor.

Price is to include -

Addy (I'm using P9 walls, Keraquick floor)
Grout (Ultracolour plus)
Tanking Kit
Trims
Silicone
NMP boards, screws, glue
Primer

I get a total cost of £775

What do you think?

but if that is your usual price then it maybe worth knocking a bit of (maybe £50) to keep you working....it's your call

You say your losing out on quotes mark , maybe other tilers are not tanking shower areas thus giving cheaper quotes, i know for a fact in my area very few tilers tank standard shower areas , i spoke to 2 tile suppliers in the area how many tanking kits they sold, the answer was something like 2 or 3 in the last year or so ...

Hi Mark ,I would estimate the number of days it will take you. Times that by your current day rate, and add on for any unforeseen problems

Just read Andy P's reply, good point. Stress to your customer that you are preparing in the correct way, ask them if the other quotes are like for like?

I have 'itemised' the quote so he knows what he's paying for and I went over the tanking a few times with him.

That's the way he wanted it but he has done a good job in his kitchen where he build a stud wall and did some dry lining so I'm not too concerned with it
