what drill bit

Hi Guys, just fitting up the shower to the tiles, i need to drill the little holes for the shower fitting plate where the copper comes through, its only small holes, would i use a metal drill bit or a masonery drill bit, look forward to someone answering me quickly as at the mooment we have no water.:lol:

easiest done with a diamond core drill, but if you're in a rush and if they're soft ceramics you may be able to drill a series of small holes and open the hole out with the drill at an angle

oohhh sorry ive cut the hole with a diamond 20 mm drill bit,...the holes im talking about will be for the fixing plate that the shower thermo goes onto, maybe only size 10 hole, i should explaine it is a ceramic tile

a decent masonary bit should drill it then. be careful it doesn't slip on the tile

as above and place some masking tape on the tile then drill through it at a slow speed

Thanks Jay, done the trick, got the shower bar on with no leaks im impressed with myself, putting the tile on and then the shower bar took some time, we let the rapid set go hard before we started on the shower bar, wife doing the tiling placing very well, will show the forum some pictures once we have completed it, my tile cutter is going slightly off line on the cuts, and im thinking of running something on the tile to keep the cut as straight as possible. Have to say tile guys certainly earn there corn. regards Kanhatiger
