What has happened to bal white star?

What has happened to bal white star these days? It used to an excellent ready mixed adhesive that set quickly but now it takes ages

What size tile and type were you using it on?

They changed it to include fibres in it. I expect they did it to make it sound better but I have a feeling that it made it cheaper to manufacture.

I was using a 400x250 ceramic onto plaster and some of it was still moving the next day,it seemed much better a few years back

I though it was different mate,it says on the tub u can use it with porcelain tiles upto 150x150 I don't know if that's what's changed it?

Didn't know that,always thought it was for ceramics
It's definitely not as good as it used to be tho

Your better off using weber set plus. ...or something similar. ...half the price you can use it on any tile and size tile...

I bloody love white star but now topps don't stock it! I'm back on Grip now which is meant to be replacing white star eventually as they changed for formula so it's whiter and less stiff

Always enjoyed the ease of being able to open a bucket of White Star and crack on without having to mix up, but so many tiles we deal with these days are large porcelain it very rarely makes an appearance.
