hi im new to the forum couple years ago done a 6 month
nvq course in college done few odd jobs since im good
and confident at tiling. just wondered was there anyone
else who has done the same and did they start up them
selves if so would the tell me about how they done and
giv some advice also what would you need the nvq for .

My NVQL2 hasn't really been any use to me. Gets you your CSR/CSCS card to go on site where applicable, but hasn't really got a place in most domestic applications and won't swing a job in your favour. Didn't really learn anything at all on the course either.

It may not swing a job but it wont do any harm......and then again to the right client it may swing the job.

definately an advantage to having your nvq you never know whats coming workwise site work might come up how would you feel if you had to turn work big sites need the cscs card with your wall and floor tiling nvq on the back

I am time served, so qualified for CSCS Gold card under grandfather rights. Thank god, but I am just enquiring about heritage nvq level three. After 43 yrs in the game I hope I don't have to much hassle. To old to sit exams etc.:yikes:

welcome kevin, i can only see the advantages to completing an nvq course in tiling, its a step up on your way to gaining the relevant knowledge to give you a head start. cant see any disadvantages in that. a good memory is the key to education. you will be still learning when you hang up your boots.
