What silicone do you use?

As Bubblecraft has said Everbuild is too watery. It doesn't fill me with any confidence, I use Dow and i wouldnt' use anything else. Everbuild Everwhite is sold in 'Grahams' plumbers merchants and as with alot of there budget products...you get what you pay for..... Merry Christmas..

I wonder if there are different types then because this is no where near what I would call watery ! Its not as "stiff" as Microban though but definately on par with the consistency of Mapei !!

dow or mapei for me ive used them all i find micromax good but hard to work with

So I changed to Dow about 18 months ago, it has a smoother finish and so far at home the shower tray seal is still white.

All down to humidity and cleaning regimes by customers... and silicone don't last a life time

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather spend £2.25 on Everbuild than £5 for the Dow but I just don't trust the Everbuild anymore. I do have a few tubes in the van that are supposed to be for the hidden seal on bath and tray but even then I still use the expensive Dow because if nothing else it dries quicker and will be a stronger seal.

I use Everbuild Forever white and clear, lovely to work with. For colours I use BAL, they have a new range of colours and Atlas, depends on whether the customer wants me to match the tile or grout colour on joints, and what colour is required.

I have to agree with Brinkley. It is a bugger to work with though no sinking at all. I suppose they all have there pro's & cons

Mapei coloured and Dow Corning white

Used Screwfix's own NO NONSENSE in clear and white for a job the other day and found it surprisingly good. Wont be replacing my Mapei and Dow stock though

What i'm getting at, is i haven't seen a neutral curing silicon that says Sanitary Grade on the tube. So what silicon are you using with stone tiles? Why does Sanitary Grade Silicon need to be used/what's the difference??

To be honest I only recall ever seeing sanitary grade written on the cheaper stuff, as if to make out its better, but as for me I prefer to use micromax for all applications, bit stiffer than most which I think is better.
