I need mosaic or 50mm sq max tiles for a 1200 x 900 wet area. A bathroom installation firm says porcelain is the only material hard-wearing enough for this, which I doubt, particularly as Topps sell a range of slip-resistant 50mm sq ceramic tiles. I also find unbevelled porcelain is very unforgiving ( and would also need sealing? which I want to avoid ). Would normal 50mm sq ceramic be ok for this purpose? Does anyone have views/suggestions on this?

Have to agree with Dave on this one, the prep is the most important part. I don't understand why the bathroom company said it must be porcelain for hardness as all of the wet rooms I have been involved with have not been heavy foot traffic, just bare foot????????
Being slip resistant is far more important.:huh2:

Thanks, Dave and Rob. They came round last night to measure up for a quote and said some other things that I wasn't too sure about, like no need for insulation board below ufh, so I'm not too convinced that they know what they are talking about. It amazes me that these people who have bathroom fitting showrooms can give such innacurate advice to potential clients. Thanks help again.
