What type of ply to use

Hi can someone help me with this problem I have choosing a ply substrate. I'm ripping old floor boards up to replace with ply but I will be using no more ply on top, does it matter wot grade of ply I use? I was going for an 18mm thickness which I know will need sealing underneath and the edges. Also what would be the best screws to use to screw it to the joist and where to buy them from? Would it also be a good idea to glue to the joist with say no nail or something stronger? Please help me I'm going out of my REMOVED mind and her in doors is REMOVED me off

you want wbp ply ,what tiles do you intend using , are you doing the work yourself

Glue wouldn't be necessary, as long as the floor is screwed down firmly every 300mm & onto where needed Noggins.
Make sure there is no deflection when fixed, having someone to watch and help with this is easier.

Hi rob I rang you last wk you were going away. Tiles are 6mm 600x300 ceramic for nick firths. I'm only ripping out. Had a few quotes for tiling but not made a decision as yet

Will the noggings have to be the same as the joist 7x2? Not got the floor up yet so not sure about pipe work etc

Is it such s bad thing to use? Alot of threads say its ok as long as its over boarded with any tile backer board

You av to understand these tilers on here are strange and mention plywood very very brave i understand were you are coming iam a far better trade :lol:
