Whats a popular choice for floor addy on ply?

Just as per the title really.

I`ve been using Ardex 7001 and its great, but its a bit pricey...

What do others find works well.

only ever used bal spf. good adh think it was £16 plus vat at ctd for the grey. the white is dearer. great stuff though

You won't get much better than 7001. Only other stuff that gives similar performance (better in fact) on timber is BAL Fastflex, that I have used. Even more expensive though!

If you are looking at BAL products and have a ply overlaid floor (18mm) then you can use Rapidset Flexy but it is not really any cheaper than 7001. Alternatively you can use Goldstar and AD1 admix. Don't know the prices so can't comment on that either.

I know Mapei do alternatives but I have not used them so can't comment on their use.

Currently getting my 22kg bags for 31.74 inc vat.

RRP is over 45+vat!

Might give the bal stuff a go..


Just trying to keep costs down whilst still using a good pruduct!

You may consider the Mapei product range;

18mm exterior grade ply to floors which is secured by screws to the joists at 300mm centres or better - Keraquick S1 adhesive or S2 Quick may be used........i.e. no admix required.

grout with ultracolor plus cg2 grout (26 colours)....again no admix required
