Im a Plasplug man :)

Just upgraded my dry Plasplug cutter for a Husqvarna 670 but still got my little trusty Plasplug compact plus wetsaw too, but I was also looking at getting the Master tiler, and for under £80 I don't think you can go far wrong.

But I do like the look of a rail wetsaw too.... so I don't know for sure yet.

When you choose your wet cutter. don't just go for the cheap range if you can

because a 450w etc motor will struggle with large format slate / terracotta

etc..especially when doing repetitive cutting...a machine that has an induction

motor won't burn out like traditional bush type motors will..

so my advise would be to try and buy machine with a higher output motor

to cope with the demands asked of it..and then accompanied with a good

blade..the macrist mentioned is a great blade..( i use the turbo one )...

but there are other brands as well...rubi have a good selection for every material.

The choice of machine is up to the individual..The plasplug range has a good

choice.. probably the mastertiler would be the best of its range very popular cutter

and can be bought for a very reasonable price..

I use rubi machine's now excellent build quality and powerful motors.. i use the

diamant d200.. 1.2 hp motor and won't struggle on thick stone's..

So my advise is to choose wisley and not just cause it's cheap...

You will find some nice cutters from neil at... http://www.buybrandtools.com/

Good luck............

I bought a Briccolina for £150 odd, so far i've been very impressed. A very quiet motor gives a very clean cut and the water spray isnt a torrent like you get on some of the cheaper cutters. It's also vey light and comes with a neat carrying handle.
Got a Bricci myself, been fantastic until now - struggles with quarries with standard blade!

BuyBrandTools

Worst thing I fine with buybrandtools is that unless you actually want a Rubi then you've had it, no choice what so ever, and with so many cutters on the market, wet and dry that are very equal in quality, it's a shame they don't have any other choice.

Sorry you feel that way Fekin. You are correct, there are a lot of cutters on the market, however we sell Rubi as we believe they are the best manufacturers of tiling tools around. We aim to cater for the mass market and believe that Rubi is the brand with the highest demand and sales and satisfied customers support this.

Its not easy to sell various brands due to difficuties with suppliers and conflicts between them. We also feel that by selling certain brands we wouldnt be selling the "best quality brand tools " anymore.

We our doing our best to ensure that tilers have a good choice and have added many products over the last few months and intend to do the same in the future.
