I been asked to tile a full bathroom floor and all , so i went to view, its a nice

empty shell at the moment, any how the plumber was there so while talking to

the customer about starting i said well once the plumber puts the bath in i can

make a start, the plumber then said no mate you tile the floor first so i can then

put my bath in and get the bath panel correct, i said i do the floor last once the

walls are all done, he then said well thats not how they do it on sites.

have i gone backing mad or is this plumber right, if so then i may hang up my

trowel

shaun ..........

well i suppose either way wouldn't matter...
i've just started out myself so will be watching this thread with interest....(now i'm guessing some of the lads will think it's extra money for you tiling that area...lol)

thinking about it though.... if there's any problem with the plumbing in the future it would be quite difficult to get to the pipes after you tiled it ...errrm i would go with putting the bath in first deffo
lets see if i'm right ...lol

well i've always done it that way, see all the plumber was worried about was

making sure is bath panel fitted, said its easy to do with the tiles already down my

argument was time for tile to set solid so i could start using my ladders to reach

with it having high wall, also the danger if something i.e. even a tile drops then its

going to damage the floor . i think hes talking out of his hoop

shaun ....

As long as he has the tile you are fixing then it should be no probs to fit the bath first...you just have to have any sub-floor you are putting down, installed first then he can take the tiles thickness and allow for adhesive..no probs..do it this way all the time with the plumber i use and never have any rpobs....good luck ....dave..

Ive been on a few sites recently, Bath and shower trays in frist. Tile a bitty under the bath and tile to the shower. Most plumbers on private jobs are the same, seems you have a right one but if he insists then explain to the client the extra cost of tiles and your area because he is thinking of the pannel. Let the customer decide! Good luck
