Im thinking about moving out of London but not to sure where would be good to look for work. Just getting fed up with London life.

I could be interested in moving to Manchester, Bournemouth, Brighton(not to far) Maybe go to newcastle. Not really that fussed just as long as i can get work....
Could somebody tell me of anyone i could maybe get in contact with to ask...

Thanks..

I go to Spain a few times a year and as you know in the warmer Med countries they use a lot of cool tile almost everywhere. Just wondering if any of you guys work, or have worked in Spain and is there any openings for Brits.
ps .. I also speak spanish and certainly know about knowing the language. I have no intention of working there myself, retiring there certainly. Just wondering if there were opertunities for the Brits as we are all in the EU.

i have been told that the spanish have the tiling boxed off, but there is plenty of work for the likes of plasterers, sparks..etc

'Boxed Off' ?

Guy I know (plummer) was living 60 mile east of Almeria about 8 year ago and he was always complaining about the Mañana attitude. That is, having to find other trades to complete the jobs before he could finish his work. One of the trades was Tiling, he was unable to finish jobs until tiling had completed.
He always had plenty of work on with British ex pats etc, because he got the job done and was not adapt to siesta. He worked the same as we do here, for example he would start at 7am and work through the day taking time out, an hour for dinner at lunchtime and finish up at 5-6ish.
I thought there might have been bucket loads of work for tilers somewhere like that.

I spend a lot of time in Spain. Tilers usually give an 'all in price' which includes the tiles. cost of living out there is much cheaper but Brits always want to charge UK prices for work so don't get much. If your'e gonna live there it's OK to think tiling but if your'e going out to work and bring the cash home forget it, you wont earn enough. (unless your Brill and lucky)
