hi fellow tilers need help ive tiled a hallway floor had to use 18mm ply for reasons i'll not go into (to long a story) which meant when i got to living room floor (which was real wood flooring) i was 20mm above it. tryed useing a trim with plastic plugs that knock into the floor and adjust to differant levels but it was to much for it. wanted to use a hardwood threshold with a ramp cut into it (i have a man who makes them for me) but she wants chrome! so this is my question does anyone know were to buy a chrome ramp door plate that will make up 20mm differance. sorry it was so long winded !

There is a trim that will take the difference, It might be a tilerite trim, it goes from 10 to 22mm I think. The sides are offset for the different floor levels. Having said that, if you encountered problems with the hallway floor that were beyond your control then your customer may have to accept a made up hardwood trim, I think they look far better than chrome anyway. I too have them made up by a local firm in Nantwich, oak, cherrywood, ash, maple. Sometimes they are the only alternative.

I know shluter and gradus etc do them. Any chrome trims I have seen of that depth have been upwards of £20 and thats £40 if you dont get a trade discount.

I have attached a link for you for Morlaeys website mate. This brand can be found in many crpaet shops and flooring distributers. You will probably find some trim in a few tile distributers shops aslo (probably only to order though) if you have a good look around.
