Which manual tile cutter for DIY?

Hi,

We are currently carrying out a self build wghich is now getting to the point where we need to start tiling. Thus far we have done almost everything ourselves, apart from the bricklaying and plastering.

We have done bits of tiling before, but never anything on this scale, as we have 3 bathrooms to tile, a downstairs WC and the utility room floor. I've read a couple of books on tiling and I think as long as we take our time (which we have plenty of) we can achieve a decent finish.

I have access to a couple of tile cutters but probably nothing up to the job of cutting large format porcelaine tiles.

Which tile cutter would you recommend? I like to buy decent quality tools that will last and be up to the task that a DIY'er (or small scale developer) will need them for. I've been looking at the Rubi TS 60 Plus, so a budget of around £200 I guess.

Just out of interest, what does it do better than "lesser" models? Is it a case of the lesser models not cutting it at all/to an acceptable standard/or just more easily?

and i bought it, a good machine, and as posted forget the ts range, a tx will do everything and more.

I will also need a diamond core bit to cut some small holes for in ceiling spotlights, any recommendations for those?

No, I will dig out the areas and maybe someone could give me a rough ball park figure?

Tiling I am more confident with, I can take my time, set it out, think about it, stop if necessary. Plastering is a whole different ball game, it needs to be done in large areas, with speed and you can't stop and come back to it. It's taken a plasterer a month to do, if it took me 3 times as long that would be too long. If it takes me 3 times as long as a pro tiler I can live with that.
