Which tile cutter?

Hi and welcome. All the info you receive on here normally depends on what machine people have got used to as everyone has there preference but for me you wont go wrong with the rubi.

I like the breaking mechanism on the tx compared to the ts range and as mentioned the ts range is not too great for porcelain. I have the tx700 and it is a good cutter, will cut 60x60 with ease.

Just noticed that you have bought one now.

Be sure to ensure that they sold you the new one, I feel that the new one is better, it doesnt have the foam base.

It also has the fitted extension arms that just pull out rather than having to put them on yourself every time you use the cutter.

I have seen the old cutters in a few shops.

I have a TS rubi cutter which has a limited range of uses, not a recommended purchase.
Sigma cutters are nice, I just used a buddy's Sigma for some 2 inch mosaic and it cut really nice.

But...

Our next cutter will be a Montolit MasterPiuma.
I like the looks of the rubi, and Sigma seems to be good gear, but montolit has some nice features that has me inclined to go that way.

Buy a sigma, nothing else comes anywhere near it, I still have my first one now 25 years.
