White ultra gone grey again

This has been in a few threads where White Ultra colour plus has dried grey
Just had a phonecall from a mate who it has just happened too. I know he uses P9 (therefore white addy) and been left a day. Did we come up with any answers lads ?

Told him to mix some spare up and leave it overnight to dry to see if it goes white. Apart from that, haven't a clue

PS it's a constant colour not patchy

hi faithy,i never saw any answers apart from some peeps saying to mix it properly,however i think it was macten who weighed/measured it to a t ands mixed correctly in house and it still came out greyish so not really sure. personally i dont use it anymore,as i was getting a consistent off mushroomy grey colour from it

Says he did it yesterday but I love the stuff myself so I'll have to wait until the morning to what the sample bit looks like

I'v seen the ultracolour jasmin drying funny lately too ! patchy in places and not all drying out consistantly.We'll have to keep tabs on this.

I avoid the Ultra white now coz it isn't a bright white. The other Mapei whites are ok though so I've been told. For the last few jobs I've gone back to BAL microban just to ensure I don't get any comebacks.

Are you thinking of Ultra the manufacturer Doug?
The grout in question is a mapei product, only ask because I know you are an ultra user.

Right, here's my twopenneth

I used the Mapei Ultracolour White in my bathroom and it didn't even come out white. You would expect it to be somewhere near white, but perhaps not brilliant white. It came out a grey/mushroom colour. I couldn't mix it as per the instructions because I didn't have an electric mixer to do so.

I was then given a bag of Mapei Keracolour in White and I used this in my en-suite. it was much better (not brilliant white) but it at least came out a consistent white colour all over.

I say Ultracolour is rubbish and the Keracolour is better. But if you're looking for pure brilliant white, use a different manufacturer because Mapei do not make a brilliant white.
