Hiya all and a happy new year....

How many of you are working or got work lined up.,

Ive not had any calls for a few weeks and im still waiting for my first call of the year. good job i work as a posty to keep the cash flowing

Only had exmas and boxing day off, been flat out and booked up for next 6 weeks.

how lon have you been established for, do you only do domestic work ???

Only two years, yeah most of this is domestic work at the moment, be a few more weeks for builders start ringing me.

how do you get on to the commercial scene, do you need a cscs card and all the other stuff or is it just a case of getting calls for advertising

Started back tuesday after having the whole of xmas and new year off. Don't want any phone calls at the moment just got to much on plastering and tiling.

I only work for builders i know, about seven of them, all the work i do for them i dont have to price against anybody, took me a while but i give them a good job, no moaning just get on with it, they know what i want now, so floors walls etc are spot on when i turn up, if it means i work to midnight or all weekend to finish a job i do. They dont want hassle or moaning just the job finished to a high standard and they pay me well for it.

Tysfoot commercial can be big and risky you need to be well established and experienced at what you do before you go that way if anything goes wrong it could cost you thousands get a good few years under your belt first or work for someone else for a few years Regards Pete

busy in January but dont start back till Monday,just as well as i have had the flu for the past 5 days,bahumbug.

Flat out till March, and I have a site with 17 houses coming on board. I have only agreed to do one at a fixed price we agreed over the phone and I will see if its worth my while.
Dont like site work, it doesnt spread your reputation like doing local smaller jobs for better money.
Oh customer street are a right pain! Say No thank you, tilers are given work by recommendations, local adds and tile shops not WWW search engines.
I have a website but i use it to clients can see my work. Most couldnt give a toss as its your manner, knowledge and price that really count!

Still doing accounting work 'til end of Jan but have jobs awaitin' for when I am not so tight for time.

was back at it the day after boxing day, on this job for at least 5wks, plastering (lots of) and around 100m2 of travertine spread over 2 en suites 1 bathroom and a kitchen floor, got peeps chasing me to do work but they'll just have to wait.

Was back on the 2nd,have work all next week but nothing after that. Don't mind too much as it was hectic November and December,need to sort the house out and do a few jobs for close family that i promised as a Chistmas gift. Of course if the phone rings they'll have to wait:wink_smile:
