Who has tiles where tiles aren't commonly used???

Done a living room floor last week with 600 x 600 polished porcelain, marble effect, looked really nice but no ufh. Suggested it to the customer but budget didnt allow for it. Personally wouldnt be me, too cold under foot during the scottish winters lol.

I got a job running at the moment where everything is stone floors even in the bedrooms, I was a bit shocked at first but its looking good. Photos to follow when its complete.

I have my tv sunk into my chimney breast, it's the centre of the room and I'm thinking of tiling this too, but again I don't know If it's just because I can or not :-/

As everyone seems to agree it is quite common in lounges nowadays (but def only with UFH) so don't think it would be a problem with re-sale, but I would say though if you have kids its a very hard surface when they are throwing themselves around!, carpet is a lot more forgiving lol!

I guess everything has its pros and cons. At mine the living room and kitchen are open plan into each other and breaks from a tiled kitchen to a hardwood floor. Even after one day you get big clumps of cat fur floating about the place grrr!
