The internet is a powerful tool - for sure. It's what you make of it and how much you work at it.
Me - I'm on Facebook for my personal life, again there for business, Twitter to reach more business sites and roughly 5 online forums to stay current.
I write what I want when I want but try and post something new every day.
Learning to use key words in your posts is simple if you always do it. Just like "renovating" "bathrooms" here in "Vancouver" - it just gets easier and easier with time.
If you know what your doing - Write about it - Someone will find it and they may or may not call you. My last two projects found me from their own online search for "Vancouver" "Contractors" - two totally different jobs.
One a simple re and re with Ditra and Kerdi but the others is going to be our biggest budget per square foot we have ever done. This fellow is new to Vancouver and knows none of my prior clients (Must be why he called - thought I would post that before any of you could.) His only read on me was from my website and online content.
If you are interested about growing your knowledge, skills etc bring a camera to work and if that day your grouting - talk about grouting. If the next your stuck doing some crazy demo and your "FNG" falls through the floor into the basement - write about job site safety.
Write something - know what your talking about. People will find you.
Don't over use keywords or the internet search engines will block you.
Pretty easy - if you have no life and work all the time 🙂
