What's the best way to keep the tiles fixed to the underside of the recess? I used lenghts of batton for each tile, but is there an easier way.

another related question:
Which is the correct way to put the trim on? i did it with the flat/flange side in the recess. i ask because i'm taking tiles off for another customer and the trim was around the outside of the recess!!

The best way is the way you feel comfortable with, Battens are ok, I use 2 woodworkers clamps that can "spread" as well as clamp

And the trim should fit inside the reveal.

I use those too doug, full size ones propped off the floor. I use them on all headers as i had a tile fall off once and damage a vanity worktop.

Got them from Aldi of all places, i think they were about £6 each so ridiculously cheap.

(Work well for holding skirting boards on until the gripfil goes off too if you lay them across the floor)

I rarely use anything to hold them up other than the suction from the tile adhesive itself, and also fit the flat edge of the trim on the wall as oppose to the reveal. Each to their own method but bein doin it this way for years with success:thumbsup:

Same method here... i can hang a 12mm stone slab and it won't drop off...it's all in the suction as they say..

I got one from Aldi too Scottley, only when I put a bit too much tension on, it snapped the trigger:yikes:

As above I use suction for soffits. But on heavy porcelain over the window head I use the same as Doug. The 1st ones I bought were from B&Q £20 then I bought some more from Aldi the £6 ones all still going strong, I have six now. Handy when you are doing a bathroom with two windows and a door:thumbsup:
